Detective Virgil Tibbs's niece, Nicole (Traci Wolf), and Officer Bubba Skinner's nephew, Bobby (Mitchell Anderson), are teenagers from different worlds, but they find common ground -- and trouble -- in Sparta. Soon the two are swept up with an ex con, Willie Baylor (Mickey Jones), who was recently paroled from prison and is back is Sparta, hell-bent on finding the loot he buried years ago. Looking out for the kids, chief Gillespie (Carroll O'Connor) gives Willie a warning, but Nicole and Bobby must use their wits to stay out of the path of the menacing ex-con. Howard Rollins Alan Autry, Anne-Marie Johnson, Lois Nettleton and David Hart also star.
