DJ Unk, whose real name is Anthony Leonard Platt, died after suffering a heart attack, his wife has revealed.

The Atlanta musician died in his sleep on Friday

In 2009, Unk was hospitalized for a heart attack, which he told XXL was brought on by nonstop touring, poor eating habits, drinking and smoking.

The rapper rose to fame in the mid-2000s with his debut album, “Beat’n Down Yo Block!”

DJ Unk put his name on the map when his two breakout singles from the 2006 record — “Walk It Out” and “2 Step” — found major success.

“Walk It Out” soared into the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart and spurred a remix featuring André 3000 and Jim Jones,

He went on to release his sophomore album, “2econd Season,” in 2008, which peaked at No. 15 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums.

A candlelight vigil in honor of the rapper took place Sunday night in his Atlanta neighborhood.
